감추어진 풍경

도미니끄 띠노의 화면에선 풍경적인 요인이 간단없이 포착된다. 숲의 이미지, 숲 사이로 비치는 햇살과 나뭇잎 새의 떨림, 잔가지 사이로 지나가는 바람소리, 봄, 여름의 무성한 나뭇잎의 왕성한 생명감과 가을날 낙엽의 바삭 이는 가벼움, 세월의 무게가 가라앉는 초겨울의 들녘의 숨결이 명멸한다. 그러나 풍경은 그 모습을 드러내는 순간 어느덧 자취를 감춘다. 풍경은 감추어졌을 때 비로소 풍경으로 뇌리에 남는다. 그가 그리는 풍경은 있는 풍경이기도 하고 동시에 없는 풍경이기도 하다. 있음과 없음의 경계선상에 아스라이 풍경적 관념이 서식한다. 잡힐 것 같으면서도 어느덧 지워지는 풍경, 관념이 기억에서 지워져가는 풍경을 다시 일깨운다.

풍경을 본다고 했을 때 항시 어느 특정한 장소를 떠올리기 마련인데 띠노의 화면에선 장소로서의 풍경보다 시간의 흐름 속에 명멸하는 풍경이라고 하는 편이 어울린다. 그러기에 풍화된 시간으로서의 풍경이 자리하게 된다. 그의 이전의 작품 속에서도 마치 원시시대 동굴벽화나 중세의 프레스코 벽화를 보는 것 같은 시간의 퇴적을 느끼게 하였다. 오랜 세월을 격해서 오는 아득함이 명상의 분위기에 젖게 하였다. 그의 근작에서도 이 같은 체온은 여전히 이어지는 것 같다. 단지 고대인의 부적 같기도 한 기호들이 어지럽게 널려 있던 화면이 보다 절제된 공간과 긴장감을 동반한 브라슈워크에 의해 대체되고 있음의 변화가 걷잡힐 뿐이다.

흔히 풍경 속에 끼어들 수 있는 일화적인 요소 또는 서사적 내용성을 단번에 몰아내는 단호함을 보이는 것이 이번 작품들에 나타나는 특징이다. 넓은 붓 또는 로라로 민 것 같은 강인한 운필의 속도감은 어떤 것도 끼어들 수 없는 절제감을 들어낸다. 동양의 모필에서 오는 일필휘지의 정신에 감화된 것일까. 그러나 모필의 자국에서 오는 유연성과는 거리가 먼 마치 각인하듯 분명한 윤곽의 모습으로 들어난다. 그런 만큼 바탕(지지체)과 이 위에 가해지는 안료는 어느 극점에서 만나는 것 같은 긴장감에 차있다. 어떤 것을 표현한다든가 어떤 것을 상징한다든가 하는 일류젼은 부단히 지워지고 바탕과 이 위에 가해지는 운동의 자립성만이 강하게 나타난다. 회화의 존재성만이 소리높이 구가되고 있을 뿐이다.

Scenery factors are caught constantly in Dominique Thinot's painting. It flickers that is light that; Image of forest, falter between sunlight that shine through forest and leaf, whiffle that pass through branch, liveliness of thick leaf in the spring and summer, rustle of fallen leaves the autumn. When the scenery was hidden that scenerywill linger long in our memory. His scenery is existent, and does not nonexistent at the same time. Scenery is be between exist and do not exist boundary.

When we saw the scenery, we always think particular place. But Thinot's scenery is stream of time rather than particular place. Scenery is setting down as weathered time. We can feel accumulation of time that seems to be primitive ages cave mural or medieval fresco within his previous work. We are buried in meditation by flow the years remote. Such mind seems to be connected still in his latest artwork. These artworks characteristic are shows that are determined that drive out anecdote or prologue which can join in scenery. These artworks are represent temperance which painted strong and fast strokes of the brush which seem to be paint with wide brush or roller.

It is influenced by il-pil-whi-ji mind (dashing off with one stroke of a brush) that come from Oriental writing brush. Distance is far with softness that comes from mark of writing brush, it is appear as incuse. Dyestuff added over background fills in tense which seem to meet in some climax. Expression or symbolize illusion will be disappears, and only independence exercise appears over background. Only sing the praises of paintings' existence.
